At church on Sunday, somebody—I think he was either the first counselor but I don’t even what that means, sooo…—told us about the talk that this quote comes from.  He basically just read a lot of the talk so I won’t try to summarize it, rather you can read it here (and I really advise that you do, it’s great!), but I do remember that it made me think a lot. I mean, what really would I do if I had to stand alone due to my beliefs? Rather, what would I do if I had to stand alone WITH my beliefs? I think it’s really important that we all periodically imagine ourselves in difficult situations like this. I know that I’ve done this a few times in the past few weeks and it’s during those times that I am able to really evaluate my faith and to know what I need to do in order to strengthen it. It’s easy to be faithful when things are going smoothly but not when things are tough. So in order to prepare ourselves for those tough times, I think it is wise to try imagine ourselves in hypothetical situations from time to time. What do you think?
